Want to Help? Come Volunteer!
Our rescued animals need your help! Hope for the Animals is entirely volunteer-based so community participation is essential to our success.
We ask our volunteers to dedicate at least four hours per month to help care for our rescued pets. Volunteer positions include hands-on care as well as fundraising and other social activities. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please fill our volunteer form. On your form, indicate the position(s) that interest you (see position descriptions below).
Care for the Animals in our Adoption Center
Volunteer in our Adoption Center in the Fairless Hills PetSmart. Volunteers are needed to help care for our rescued cats and interact with the public (e.g. answering questions, inviting them into the adoption center, etc). Training will be provided on premise.
Adoption Center Hours:
Monday thru Friday: 10:00 am – 12:00 noon and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Weekends- 12:00 noon -4:00 pm
*Note: Adoption Center volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Staff Our Information Tables
Be an advocate of Hope for the Animals! Throughout the year (especially in the summertime), HFA has information tables at local events such as the St. Paul Church flea market and Yardley Harvest Days. Our volunteers help with table set-up and clean-up, interact with the public (e.g. answer questions, provide information), sell HFA merchandise and fulfill other related tasks. Typically, a minimum of two volunteers staff the table at one time for a two-hour shift. New volunteers are always paired with experienced volunteers, so don’t worry if you are new- join right in!
Transport Animals to and from Local Veterinarians
This is an ideal position for seniors, self-employed persons or anyone with a flexible schedule. Our animals require occasional visit to the vet. Volunteers will need to be “on call” on certain days in order to transport the animals for an emergency or routine veterinary visit.
Help with Fundraisers
Raise money for the animals! HFA Fundraiser events typically occur once or twice a year. Depending on your experience and level of commitment, you can chair an event or be part of an event committee.
